Travel Information

Madrid is the international airport closest to Salamanca. From there, it is possible to come to Salamanca by train (3.5 hours) or by bus (2.5 hours). There are also trains that link Salamanca with Barcelona, Bilbao, Oporto and Valladolid and buses to any major spanish city.
From the airport, the easiest way to get to Conde de Casal bus station or Chamartin train station is by taking a cab (it takes about 20 minutes and costs between 2.000 and 3.000 pesetas depending on traffic conditions). The airport is connected to the city only by Bus (300 pesetas). However, the airport buses arrive at Colon Square, close to El Prado museum, but from here there are not easy conections to either the bus or train station. If you prefer to use public transportation, ask at the tourist information desk at the airport.

Train Schedule

Trains leave from Madrid Chamartin train station in the northern side of the city. There are only four trains a day that take about 3.30 hours later. Check the schedule at the train station. Currently we have only the summer schedule and those will be changed by the end of September.
